Though she would have been content to walk in companionable silence, Dany was happy that he continued the conversation. I have missed his voice.
"Too rugged? I disagree. You are from Bear Island...it suits you, Ser Jorah." She sounded amused. "Though by that logic, I should work on looking as fierce and intimidating as my children."
As if they knew she was thinking of them, two of her dragons took off into the sky. Drogon and Rhaegal flew out over the sea, while Viserion could be seen stretching and taking his time. His gold and cream scales flashed brilliantly in the sunlight. The sight made her heart sing.
Viserion seemed to be waiting for them. Smiling, she gestured for Jorah to follow her. "Come say hello. They've grown even bigger since last you saw." Yes, Dany had to ready herself for the meeting, but she could not resist snatching another moment or two with both her old bear and the gentlest of her three children.
The dragons trusted Jorah. After their mother, he had been the second human they had properly seen, and a constant presence for most of their lives. Viserion was waiting patiently, but Dany still couldn't help but leave the knight's side to run to him.
She patted his nose, and scratched the area between his eyes. The dragon made a deep sound of contentment. Daenerys looked over her shoulder at Jorah. "Would you like to pat Viserion? They all have missed you, too."
